Leading the Winter Series!

At the half-way break in the Garmin Hamble Winter Series, Puma Logic is leading the fleet in IRC1! Despite the weather doing its best to stop play – with racing cancelled on week 1 with no wind at all, then cancelled again on week 4 due to gale force winds, on weeks 2 and 3, a good strong breeze saw the fleet enjoy 2 races on each day.

On week 2, Tim Thubron skippered Puma Logic with first mate Rich Burrows and the crew (pictured L-R) of Paul, Jane, Rose, Rich, Dimitris, Tim, Nikolay, Howard, Sharon and Adam - and the team claimed two 1st places, comfortably winning both on the water and on handicap against two new First 40's amongst others!

On week 3, whilst Tim was racing in Malta, James Wilkie stepped into skipper and did a great job. Despite a few last minute crew drop-outs leaving the boat under-weight in 20-25kts, the rest of the team worked extra hard to compensate and they secured two 2nd places, but their consistency won the day overall, keeping Puma at the top of the table on 6 points, with nearest rival ‘Passion’ in second place on 12 points – so a 6 point lead is a fantastic position to be in!

Due to a drop out, we now have a place available to join the team for the second half, so if you would like to be a part of the team and are free to join for the 4 remaining weeks, please get in touch. See webpage for dates
